From any perspective you only see a single corner's three colours in full. Being able to intuitively deduce the hidden faces of three more corners is like having wallhacks during lookahead.
How long does it take?
After using the trainer for just a couple of minutes a day for a week or so I started to intuitively see it during slow solves, and after that I didn't need the trainer any more to keep improving.
